@GreerStothers @YBankole02 @GurneyJourney @TylerKeillor @GaryStaab @R_Dart @WryCritic @JCsotonyi @eawilloughby @TricaudaeStudio @Emily_Art @JoannaKobierska you've pretty consistently made color choices that stick in my brain for _years_
Oh and how could i forget, I def need to make a life-sized rod puppet of #Aquilops some day... https://t.co/xTtwCvfXsa
Not that I need more projects in my life, but at some pt Ima have to find an opportunity to make an #ornithiscian #practicalfx #dinosaur #puppet.
Their heads are just objectively some of the best ever (at least among vertebrates).
#paleoart for @WesternCenter
I don't know how we can show this more clearly w/o discovering a perfect uncrushed specimen: the crest of Dilophosaurus is formed by a dorsal expansion of the sinus that forms the antorbital fenestra (bigol snout window). There is NO evidence of separation between crest & fossa.
On the post-production side, I then need to create clear, explanatory graphics & animations that help bring the discoveries & paleontologist interpretation to life. This takes time, and getting it right involves a lot of consultation with experts and often revision.
@FredtheDinoman @Dilophosaur13 That balance is something I've tried for in some of my other work: the contrast between the adorable and the dire, personable characters in an impersonal & often brutal universe. I had no idea the vibe would come thru in a single sculpt bec tyrannos look derp from the front 😂
@jimmadseni *more bulletproof than regular allosaurus which can apparently survive stegosaurus tail artillery fire to the tail/ass zones
