Milo's league number in goroawase can be spelled as the Japanese word, Yasai (野菜). This roughly translates to the English word, vegetables. This is both a reference to his grass-type specialty and his history of being a farmer.

Official art of the HM Rock Climb. In HGSS, the player can use the HM outside of battle after they defeated Blue in a gym battle, this is the only HM that requires a badge from outside it's main region to be used. It is both the last HM to be introduced and obtained.
Official art of the HM Defog. Previously I mentioned that Flash is the only HM unneeded to complete any game it is in. That was false, Defog is also unneeded to be taught to complete any game. However, unlike Flash, Defog removes certain battle effects caused by the overworld.
