@C64TimeLine Wow. There really is no shortage of them, looking back through my screenshots. 🤔 Was Paradroid the start of this? (It was certainly influential. Then Uridium was even more successful and stunningly good looking.)
@C64TimeLine There was a definite period in the C64's history when *everything* had to be bas relief. 🤔 The game, the score-panel, the fonts.. 😁 Not that I mind it. The three shades of grey made it easy. But it's something I'm more aware of now, looking back.
@C64Reloaded One of the few sub-game style games I can think of where there wasn't a single sub-game that I didn't enjoy. Somehow the first level was always challenging enough that I never tired of it. Love the 3D tunnels. And then lots of peering intently in the 'dark' in the foxhole, etc.
@JazRignall And those graphics a so gorgeous.
Cinemaware always took the time to make their games looks like a damn pretty movie-like experience, as the company name might hint. 🙂
@JazRignall I had this on disk for some time before I ever saw the Amiga version. So this one feels like the correct one, in my mind. Now there are easyflash/tapecart options that get rid of all that loading nonsense, it's a joy to play. (Though still kinda hard. I'd like an 'easy' mode) 😁
@16bitnostalgia Ah, The Lion King — the game.
Frustrating the heck out of gamers since 1995.
Too damned hard for adults, let alone kids.
😐
(I hear there may have been a movie too.) 😉
@richardhedderly @kieferkn I had the real, official, instructions, so I knew the movement controls for the log roll, but I could never get the hang of it. It was years before I read tips online and realised how to actually get it right. 😁
My favourite events:
(Slalom and bull-riding are okay too.)
@C64Reloaded @SergioGrazzini0 They upped the graphical quality just a teeny bit for the 16 bit sequel. 😋
@retroarcadian I like the 16 bit Buggy Boy games.
It was a bit slower than the C64 version I'd grown accustomed to, but those big hand-pixelled sprites were really nicely done.
