7k triangles, but tbh the topology of the models isn't really the best (but I guess it works). Some of the details, like the small holes is made using normals

i learned about normal maps today idk why i havent been using them sooner because this is fucking awesome look those are legit furry shadows no textures this is exactly what ive been looking for PLUS i can reshape the model without having to redo all the custom normals https://t.co/UDDtiaYcCz

Topology for another commission I'm working on that will be realtime (i.e. no subsurf). I've cut this one to support normals editing.

Working on getting custom normals. Idk if this method is gonna work rip

Another quick comparison between BEER/Malt and Eevee. BEER lets you disable self-shadowing behaviour (important with edited normals) while keeping cast shadows, as well as disabling certain meshes from casting unwanted shadows, giving a much more anime-like effect.

Hey 😃 I'm working on a new anime character model
I was making sure that it looks ok from most angles
I didn't edit the normals yet I used just shadeless materials,
I think something is wrong with the eyes, what do you think?

WIP on Bee and Puppycat to practice manipulating normals/toon shading! Happy to hear that lazy in space is coming to netflix in 2022!

RIP Impa tho...

Meet Shun. She cries a lot and the concept is that she'll zone using gigantic bugs as normals; if you whiff punish the bugs they die for a bit and she's locked out of moves that use that bug

well, HD XC2 Kos-Mos is now finalized
pic1: SD version
pic2: HD version

Improved Diffuse, Emission, and PBR quality, fixed transparency issues, animated eyes, fixed shoulder vertex's, updated materials, updated vertex normals, and mesh tangents.

Parametrically created car seats are now in. :3 (Still needs a bit of normals/tangents-tweaking, maybe.)

should look better with really smooth normals, but this looks pretty slick so far 😀

Thanks. They are procedurally generated. The contoured hatching uses the object coordinates and the wave texture. The terminator line uses the normals and the difference between two color ramps.

Robert Kyle is way too fun no one should let me have these normals

I haven't adjusted the normals of the model. It seems that is kinda improves the normal by itself, though there are still some minor glitches to it (for example on her leg)

Practicing some normals editing on my WIP! The ponytail is just flat materials for now. The rest I've been playing around with.
