77 years ago today, the world's largest aircraft carrier at the time, Shinano, ended her life after only 10 days of service. Redesigned as an aircraft carrier from the third ship of the Yamato class, she was expected to serve as a frontline offshore base, ↓

77年前の本日、当時世界最大の空母「#信濃」が竣工から数え僅か10日の生涯を終えました。大和型3番艦から空母に設計変更された同艦は、最前線での洋上基地の役割を果たすことを期待されていましたが、その機会を得る前に、潮岬東南東沖の深淵に飲み込まれていきました。

75 years ago today, the life of the heavy cruiser Takao came to an end. Takao participated in various battles of the Greater East Asia War, but remained until the end of the war. After the war, Takao was seized by the British and blown up in the Malacca Strait.

75年前の今日、重巡「高雄」がその生涯を終えました。
高い攻撃力と艦隊旗艦としての設備を備えた高雄は、大東亜戦争の様々な戦に参加するも終戦迄残存。戦後役目を終えた高雄は英軍に接収され、マラッカ海峡で爆破処分されました。
本作の絵馬が高雄艦内神社分霊元の護王神社境内に掲げられています。

77年前の今日、エンガノ岬沖海戦、サマール島沖海戦があり、各地で関連の慰霊祭が行われていいます。橿原神宮の瑞鶴慰霊祭への参列が急遽入った予定のため叶わなくなり、遥拝で英霊に哀悼の誠を捧げます。
作品は瑞鶴・伊勢・長門・熊野で、いずれも捷一号作戦時のシーンです。

【作品紹介】#鉛筆画「Golden Eagle -護衛艦 ちょうかい-」
同艦はこんごう型の4番艦。艦名は鳥海山に因み、帝国海軍・海自を通じ日本艦艇としては3代目。
作品はBMD任務を遂行中の「ちょうかい」で、まさにSM3を発射した瞬間。背景には防空警戒態勢にある「すずつき」。
