But then decided as it’s mainly covers, it’s got to be something else.

I return to picturefiction regularly (even as an adult reader) to reimagine, reimmerse and to reconnect. Find so many threads link up on different reads, offering new noticings.
(Illus. Shaun Tan, Kaatje Vermeire and Rachel Warda)
@Mat_at_Brookes @RebeccaLucas @lilylamotte @epershannd @smerchant13 @sam_creighton @MissS_Kimble @RuddickRichard @erinlynhamilton Interesting links to these two for me. Both graphic / hybrids with food, family and belonging as key themes.
Can’t wait to get hold of this, Mat. Thanks @RebeccaLucas!
@FCBGNews I have loved these.
All texts that demonstrate that being disabled does not mean being unable.
Powerful picturefiction and non-fiction. All empathy building.

@kashleyenglish @davidjalmond @nikkigamble @imaginecentre @zaroweil Would love to see what someone like Jon Klassen, Sydney Smith, Qin Leng or Rachel Wada would bring to David’s prose.
@kashleyenglish @davidjalmond @nikkigamble @imaginecentre Nice to see they had the two magpies (for joy?) on the hardback. More prominent on my paperback copy. Love this book. A perfect blend of empathy and humour. I’ve got one of Polly Dunbar’s originals framed from this.
@smithsmm Lindisfarne, Kielder, Newcastle. Almond’s words can’t help but transport you to the North.
Love how Pinfold, Litchfield, McKean and many more illustrate it, too.

@rapclassroom @ksandsoconnor @BooksForKeeps Severely underrepresented it seems. Lots of US that springs to mind. But for British, two superb writers in @DeanAtta and @malorieblackman.
Interesting link for Boy’s Don’t Cry’ here:

@jotregenza @TeresaCremin @The_UKLA @Mat_at_Brookes @one_to_read @nikkigamble @MeakerR @imaginecentre @clpe1 For such a (hopefully) large library, here’s one of the smallest books. So much power - a beautiful message about acceptance. Always #ShaunTan for me!
